Erminia Borghi-Mamo was an Italian soprano opera singer and is the daughter of Adelaide Borghi-Mamo and Michele Mama, both opera singers themselves. She was quite literally born into the theatre. After a performance of Verdi's Il Trovatore, Adelaide Borghi-Mamo gave birth to Erminia just hours later in a room at the theatre La Comédie Italienne. She made her debut in 1873 and went on to enjoy a successful career for the next 20 years.
